Senior Technician Physical Security Systems
Department: Operations / Field Services
Location: Parkersburg, WV Area Field Position
Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Compensation: $25$35 per hour, depending on experience and licensing
About the Role
Mancan Staffing is assisting a local client in their search for an experienced Senior Physical Security Systems Technician to serve as a lead installer on commercial security projects.
This role is responsible for overseeing complex installations involving access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and low-voltage systems. The ideal candidate will have strong field experience, advanced technical skills, and the ability to lead installations while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
The Senior Technician will serve as a technical leader on job sites, troubleshooting advanced issues, mentoring junior technicians, and working closely with project managers to ensure successful project completion.
Responsibilities
Lead installation, configuration, and commissioning of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and low-voltage systems
Perform advanced access control installation, programming, and troubleshooting
Plan and complete low-voltage cable runs according to NEC and industry standards
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, riser diagrams, and project specifications
Terminate, test, and commission systems while diagnosing and resolving technical issues
Serve as the lead technician on-site, ensuring quality, code compliance, and project requirements are met
Provide training, guidance, and technical support to entry-level installers
Coordinate with project managers regarding schedules, materials, and project scope
Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and other trades on-site
Maintain tools, testing equipment, company vehicles, and inventory
Follow all safety procedures and maintain NEC compliance on every project
Qualifications
Required:
Active Alarm, Electrical (ELE), or Low Voltage license
35 years of experience installing physical security and low-voltage systems
Advanced knowledge of access control systems and low-voltage cabling
Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and riser diagrams
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and elevated surfaces
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Preferred:
NICET certification
Manufacturer-specific security system certifications
Knowledge of IP networking related to security systems
Additional electrical, alarm, or low-voltage licenses
Travel & Schedule
Position requires weekly travel to job sites
Per diem provided while traveling
Hotel/lodging expenses covered by the company
Some projects may require a 14-day-on / 7-day-off rotation schedule
