Position Title: Gifted Facilitator (K-12)
Status: Ten Month Contract - Benefit Eligible
Reports To: Reports to the RCSSC Director
Wage Determination: Determined by qualification and experience
Summary: The teacher provides students with a program that will enable them to reach their fullest physical, emotional, psychological and behavioral potential. The job requires significant self-discipline, internal motivation and sound judgment. Our gifted facilitators are licensed classroom teachers who provide enrichment, content knowledge, and special support for gifted learners. Teachers are responsible for lesson planning and delivering instruction, managing the classroom, supervising students, overseeing the IEP process and documentation, and supervising non-certified classroom staff.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Requires a valid building-level/subject area license issued by the Kansas State Board of Education. Will consider the right candidate who is willing to obtain the appropriate license in adherence with KSDE waiver requirements.
  • Requires an ability to work cooperatively and constructively with others, including the ability to communicate effectively with a broad number of audiences.
  • Requires an ability to manage job responsibilities and meet the established district outcomes.
  • Requires an ability to use district-identified computer hardware and software and other district-provided technology as needed.

The RCSSC office is located in Lyons, Kansas within the Frisbie Education Center. RCSSC serves students from ages 3 to 21 by providing both direct and indirect educational services. RCSSC offers a continuum of educational services and partners with other school districts for early childhood programming and alternative education.
