BAPI is looking for a Technical Writer who can create installation manuals, technical guides, product datasheets, training materials, and knowledge resources that help customers succeed.


The Technical Writer and Documentation Specialist will develop and maintain technical documentation for advanced HVAC sensor products. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys collaborating with subject matter experts, organizing complex information, and producing high-quality documentation that serves both technical and non-technical audiences.

Technical Writer and Documentation Specialist Principal Responsibilities:

Documentation and Development:

  1. Develop, write, and maintain technical documentation for HVAC sensor products, including installation manuals, product datasheets, troubleshooting guides, and internal knowledge resources.
  2. Translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly documentation for customers, technicians, and internal teams.
  3. Ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and aligned with product specifications and company standards.

Information Gathering and Technical Accuracy:

  1. Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, and Sales teams to collect accurate technical information.
  2. Verify technical content for accuracy and completeness before publication.
  3. Ensure all documentation reflects current product specifications, engineering changes (ENF/ECN), and industry standards.

Content Organization and Knowledge Management:

  1. Maintain organized documentation systems and repositories to ensure the most current versions are accessible to internal teams and customers.
  2. Establish and manage internal knowledge resources to support training, product understanding, and customer support.
  3. Ensure documentation is easy to search, navigate, and maintain for long-term use.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Product Data Integration:

  1. Assist Marketing and Product Management with creating training materials, presentations, and internal knowledge-based articles.
  2. Help organize and maintain documentation repositories for easy access and version tracking.
  3. Participate in cross-functional meetings to understand documentation needs across teams.
  4. Ensure deliverables support product releases, engineering updates, and team workflows.

Maintains industry knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes; reviewing related publications; establishing networks.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects and tasks as delegated by supervisor. 

Requirements

Technical Writer and Documentation Specialist Education Requirements (R/Required, P/Preferred):

(P) Bachelors Degree

Degree Preferred: Technical Writing, Communications, or related field (or experience).


Training, Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Experience/Knowledge in this field (R/Required, P/Preferred):

  1. (R) Strong written and oral communications skills
  2. (P) Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  3. (P) Document Control, Version Control Systems,
  4. (P) PLM-like tools
  5. (P) Understanding of Engineering Change Processes
  6. (P) Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word)
  7. (P) Experience in HVAC & Electronics
