A premier North Carolina boutique law firm is seeking a versatile Commercial Real Estate & Construction Litigation Paralegal to join its Raleigh, Greensboro, or Charlotte team. Supporting a dynamic group of attorneys across commercial real estate, construction, and bankruptcy practices, this hybrid-friendly role offers a varied workload handling high-impact commercial transactions, construction lien enforcement, and creditor representation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lien & Bankruptcy Administration: Draft, record, and track construction mechanics' liens, claim of liens on real property, payment bond claims, and bankruptcy proof of claims.
  • Transactional Execution: Assist with commercial closings and real estate finance matters, drafting deeds, deeds of trust, settlement statements, UCC filings, and lease agreements.
  • Title & Survey Review: Abstract real property titles, review title commitments, examine exception documents, analyze surveys, zoning reports, and municipal land records.
  • Litigation & Dispute Support: Prepare initial litigation pleadings, motions, affidavits, mechanics' lien enforcement filings, discovery requests, and trial exhibit binders for construction and bankruptcy matters.
  • Court & Agency Filings: Manage electronic court filings across North Carolina State Courts, Federal Bankruptcy Courts, US District Courts, the NC Business Court, and Register of Deeds offices.
  • Document & Docket Control: Direct electronic discovery processing, maintain master case dockets, track statutory lien deadlines, and manage digital document management databases.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Substantial paralegal experience in commercial real estate transactions, construction law, mechanics' liens, and bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Practice Focus: Proven background handling mechanics' lien filings, real estate title abstracting, real estate finance closings, and commercial litigation workflows.
  • Technical Savvy: High proficiency with electronic filing portals (CM/ECF, NC Business Court, county Register of Deeds), e-discovery software, and legal document management databases.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or North Carolina Certified Paralegal (NCCP) designation preferred.
