    As an Analyst, you will collaborate with our co-founders and senior consultants to conduct in-depth analyses for management using financial and business data as well as build comprehensive management reporting for clients.

    Our company is on a hybrid model, with the entire team in-office Tuesdays and Wednesdays (2 days/week at 100 Sheppard Avenue East, Suite 860, Toronto), and the balance of days at home.     Responsibilities

    • Data extraction from various systems including accounting systems, operational systems, HR systems, web databases etc. using data extraction tools, custom coding, API connectors, and other extraction techniques
    • Mine, analyze, and model large datasets to help define the structure of the database. Develop custom data warehouses and algorithms to apply to data sets
    • Comprehensive data manipulations and transformations using SQL to clean the data of any discrepancies and re-organize data sets in desirable forms
    • Use predictive modeling to assist in estimating revenue generation and other business outcomes
    • Preparing outputs for clients including business reporting packages, financial dashboards, and operational performance trackers using data visualization tools
    • Coordinate with different client teams to implement models. Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze system performance and data accuracy
    • Develop financial analyses / data analyses providing actionable insight to management through spreadsheets
    • Manage client relationships, ensuring overall satisfaction and looking for pertinent opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients
    • As required, and depending on available billable work, assist with proposals ("live" client leads, government bids, etc.), marketing material development, writing of white papers and blogs, and help in the process of disseminating marketing materials (emails, snail mail, etc.)


    Skills & Qualifications

    • A Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline (i.e., computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, science ) is required, though work experience or completed projects in a relevant field coupled with a non-related Bachelor's degree (humanities, social sciences, etc.) can substitute
    • Experience using programming languages (C#, R, Python, or other languages,) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
    • Deep understanding of relational databases and hands-on experience with MySQL and/or SQL
    • Experience or certification using Microsoft Azure services is welcomed, but not a must
    • Hands-on experience with Excel Lookup functions, Pivots, VBA Macros
    • Experience with data analysis and machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.)
    • Experience in data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a strong differentiator
    • 0-2 years experience in analytical role with involvement in screening / manipulating / analyzing big data sets is a strong differentiator
    • Intellectual curiosity and passion for learning about new industries and new businesses
    • Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and see them through to completion
    • Ability to work independently and manage time and multiple tasks / deadlines / deliverables at once
    • Strong dedication to the team and excellent work ethic, as well as enthusiasm about going above and beyond to ensure our clients achieve their business goals
    • Desire to contribute to the firm over the long haul, with the understanding that loyalty and hard work will be recognized in both compensation and responsibilities far more quickly than in a large "brand-name" firm
