Job description

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the resort's guest rooms, public areas, and building systems to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for guests and team members. This position performs preventative maintenance, responds to guest service requests, and completes general repairs throughout the property.

This role is ideal for an entry-level to mid-level technician with experience in hospitality, multifamily housing, commercial buildings, or general maintenance.


Essential Responsibilities

Guest Room Maintenance

  • Respond to guest maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, PTAC units, thermostats, and minor electrical issues.
  • Repair doors, locks, windows, sliding glass doors, and balcony door hardware.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs including faucets, drains, toilets, and shower fixtures.
  • Replace light fixtures, bulbs, switches, outlets, and batteries.
  • Repair drywall, paint, caulk, and perform basic carpentry work.

Preventative Maintenance

  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance inspections of guest rooms and public areas.
  • Inspect and maintain HVAC equipment, pool equipment, elevators, and building systems.
  • Identify and report potential safety concerns and equipment failures.

Property Maintenance

  • Maintain public spaces, corridors, stairwells, and exterior grounds.
  • Assist with pool and spa operations as assigned.
  • Perform basic landscaping and exterior upkeep when needed.
  • Support room renovations, deep cleaning projects, and capital improvement initiatives.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop.
  • Properly use and store tools, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Participate in emergency response procedures during storms, power outages, and other property emergencies.

Qualifications

Required

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed.
