POSITION SCOPE

The Entry Level 1/Level 2 Design Engineer position requires preparation, design, and updating of detailed drawings for new and existing heavy equipment used for the mining and aggregate industry as week as assisting production and the sales department. Some travel may be required. This position will report to the Engineering Department Team Lead.

Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship now or in the future.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Perform design work, layouts, and detailed drawings assigned by the department Team Lead
  • Produce detailed drawings with a bill of materials for shop production
  • Prepare material lists for Purchasing Department
  • Prepare material takeoffs for bidding purposes
  • Design fixturing and support various automation systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong engineering and mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with Auto Cad and/or SolidWorks
  • Experience in automation systems a plus
  • Basic skills in word processor and spreadsheet programs

PHSYICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk and hear; use hands to keyboard, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, crawl, reach, and stretch
  • The employee is occasionally required to move around the office
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
