We are searching for an Entry-Level Mechanic to join our team at Cavenaugh Truck Services! Are you a hands-on technician with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for keeping trucks safe, calibrated, and compliant? Join our growing team! We are a full-service truck shop specializing in the systems that keep trucks on the road and in compliance - but we don't do heavy engine or transmission work. What You'll Do:
  • Perform brake system repairs and replacements.
  • Calibrate fuel and oil truck meters.
  • Steam tanks for repairs and inspection.
  • Conduct DOT truck and trailer inspections and safety inspections.
  • Replace and repair hoses, lines, and fluid delivery systems.
  • Service pump systems and meters on fuel/oil delivery trucks.
  • Change oil and safety check large fleet trucks.

What You'll Bring:
  • DOT State Inspector's license or the willingness to acquire upon employment is required.
  • Previous experience in truck or fleet maintenance. ASE certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience working with truck/trailer lighting systems is preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with brake systems, pneumatic/hydraulic lines, and fluid delivery systems.
  • Driving Requirements
    • Must have a valid Virginia driver's license. CDL preferred but not required.
    • Must have positive points on state driving record.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
    • Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
    • All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.
    • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
