Position Overview
Anderson Consulting, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time CAD Drafter to support drafting and design efforts for a variety of civil and facilities projects. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who is proficient in CAD software, organized, and capable of producing clear, accurate technical drawings that support engineering, architectural, or construction-related work.
The successful candidate will work closely with owner to prepare and revise drawings, maintain drawing files, setup plans, and ensure project documentation is completed accurately and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, revise, and update CAD drawings based on project requirements, markups, sketches, and verbal direction.
- Produce accurate 2D drawings and assist with 3D models, if required.
- Organize and maintain drawing files, templates, and related project documentation.
- Coordinate drawing updates with the owner, client, and other stakeholders
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, formatting consistency, and adherence to company standards.
- Incorporate red lines and revisions in a timely manner.
- Assist with as-built drawings and document control as needed.
- Help maintain CAD standards, layer conventions, and drafting best practices.
- Assist with the preparation of permit documents and response letters.
Qualifications
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in drafting, design technology, engineering technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to read and interpret technical sketches, construction documents, and specifications.
- Good organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a part-time capacity.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and general digital file management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in engineering, architectural, construction, civil, mechanical, electrical, or facility environments.
- Familiarity with drafting standards and industry best practices.
- Experience working with red lines, revisions, and document version control
- Knowledge of permitting, construction documentation, or as-built drawing preparation.
