Job Description

AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in New York, New York October 15th and 16th.  This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2027.

The event kicks off on Thursday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm, where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.

On Friday, interviews will take place at our New York office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Construction Engineer for our Transportation Projects in New York City Metropolitan Area (NY METRO). The Candidates will be working on Transit/Rail and Bridge/Highway Projects in New York City Metropolitan Area (NY METRO).

This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2027 or as discussed.

  • Under direct supervision, perform routine duties requiring knowledge of basic engineering principles. 
  • Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work. 
  • Perform specific and limited portions of broader assignments. 
  • Spend large percentage of time performing estimating take-offs and performing walk-downs for quantity tracking purposes, reporting of installed quantities, performing field inspections to verify adherence to design.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or another related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. 
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with CADD, HCS, Revit, Sketchup, AutoCAD, MicroStation, InRoades, InSite, and GIS is preferred.
