Frazer, a leading builder of emergency medical vehicles, is currently seeking a Truck Assembler to join our team. The Truck Assembler at Frazer plays a hands-on role in getting emergency vehicles built and out the door - prepping chassis, mounting modules, and installing the components that first responders depend on in the field. We hire at four levels, from Entry (Level I) through Master (Level IV), so whether you're just getting started or you're ready to own the entire shop floor, there's a place for you here.

What Does a Week in the Life of the Truck Assembler Look Like?

• Pulls the work order, checks parts against the list, and stages everything at the workstation before the first tool is lifted.

• Installs lighting systems, cameras, monitors, speakers, video recording devices, suspensions, and grille guards per spec - no shortcuts, no guesses.

• Clocks in and out of each job in ShopTrack, keeping production records accurate and current throughout the shift.

• Flags missing or incorrect parts immediately and follows up until they're resolved - no job sits waiting without a plan.

• Signs off completed tasks and clears punch-list items within the hour - nothing lingers.

• Verifies every installation against work instructions before calling it done - fit, function, and finish all checked.

• Troubleshoots complex fit-and-function issues and resolves them at the technician level - before they become rework events (Levels III-IV).

• Reviews work instruction accuracy, proposes improvements, and mentors less experienced technicians on technique and process discipline (Level IV).

Required Education and Experience:

Level I - Entry $20 - $24/hr

• 0-1 year of mechanical or assembly experience; entry-level candidates with demonstrated hands-on aptitude are encouraged to apply.

• Ability to follow written and visual work instructions step by step.

• Basic familiarity with hand tools and power tools.

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally and stand for up to 8 hours on a concrete floor.

Level II - Intermediate $25 - $29/hr

• 2-3 years of hands-on mechanical, assembly, or automotive installation experience.

• Full proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic air tools; ability to execute multi-step installs with minimal direction.

• Working knowledge of ShopTrack or a similar production tracking system.

• Demonstrated ability to cross-train across 2-3 work centers.

Level III - Advanced $30 - $34/hr

• 4-6 years of vehicle assembly, upfitting, or mechanical installation experience.

• Proficiency with all hand, power, and air tools; exposure to diagnostic equipment.

• Proven ability to rotate independently across most truck shop work centers without additional onboarding.

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot installation issues and resolve them without supervisor escalation.

Level IV - Master $35 - $39/hr

• 7+ years of hands-on vehicle assembly or upfitting experience.

• Certified proficiency across ALL truck shop work centers - chassis prep, electrical and A/V, suspension, hardware mounting, and all associated systems.

• Expert-level tool use including diagnostic equipment; ability to train others on proper technique.

• Proven final QC or lead technician experience; track record of low rework and upstream defect prevention.

• Experience mentoring or formally training junior and mid-level technicians.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Vocational or technical training in automotive, diesel, or electro-mechanical systems; equivalent experience considered.

• Prior experience in emergency vehicle upfitting, specialty vehicle manufacturing, or commercial vehicle assembly.

• Level III-IV: Exposure to pre-delivery inspection, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies.
