Job description

 Description:

The Mechanical Assembler is an entry level position, and is responsible for performing intermediate-level mechanical assembly tasks in support of the production of diamond turning machines. This role involves assembling precision mechanical components, subassemblies, and sytems used in high-accuracy diamond turning equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical assembly within a precision manufacturing environment and be comfortable working with tight tolderances, detailed documentation, and quality standards. 

 Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble mechanical components and subassemblies using hand tools, torque drivers, and precision measuring instruments including gage amplifiers, calipers and micrometers.
  • Follow detailed blueprints, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate assembly.
  • Perform alignment, calibration, and functional testing of mechanical assemblies.
  • Handle and install sensitive components with care and precision.
  • Maintain documentation of assembly processes, including travelers, inspection records, and non-conformance reports.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve assembly issues and improve processes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, cleanliness, and quality standards in a controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills
  • 0-4 years of mechanical assembly experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take directions from senior staff.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
 Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of experience in electrical or mechanical assembly.
  • Technical training or coursework in electronics or manufacturing is a plus.
