Summary:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Intern to lead continuous improvement activities in the production of thermoplastic monofilaments used in Paper Machine Clothing (PMC) applications. The intern will be tasked with providing problem-solving expertise to enhance product quality and performance. During the internship, the candidate will be assigned a project that is expected to be completed within the tenure of the internship or co-op assignment. This role includes the opportunity to work closely with a mentor from the Operations team.
The ideal candidate should be an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Textile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field. The applicant must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, exhibit excellent problem-solving and data analysis abilities, and demonstrate creativity and self-motivation. The ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment is also essential for this position.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead continuous improvement activities in the production of thermoplastic monofilaments for Paper Machine Clothing (PMC) applications.
  • Provide problem solving expertise to find solutions
  • Assigned to a project that can be completed during the internship / co-op assignment
  • Work with a mentor from the Operations team

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Undergraduate or graduate student working towards their degree in one of the following areas: Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Textile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent

  • Creative, self-driven, and able to work with a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:
  • Undergraduate or graduate student working towards their degree in one of the following areas: Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Textile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
