Aleknagik Professional Services (APS)is seeking experienced Entry Level Junior to Journeyman Software Developers / Software Engineers who will have the ability to work remotely anywhere in the USA.
This is a great opportunity for a entry level position or journeyman position that is looking to grow in their career. A plus for the hired employee is working with a team of Subject Matter Experts (SME) in System Engineering, Applications Development and Solution Architects.
This is a highly sought out position due to the increased experience working as part of a development team, assisting with client engagement and gathering requirements as well as gaining additional experience in data engineering, machine learning and/or artificial intelligence technologies.
Applicants should have 1-3 years of on-the-job Software Developer or Software Engineer experience at the very minimum working with Java and ARCHIBUS software system. 1 year or more with degree. 3 years or more without degree.
We do NOT do sprints in our Dev teams. There is no pre-release stressful grind here. We continually deliver our product in smaller clever portions, so our clients are continually wowed.

You will specialize within and across full stack development activities as part of an Agile team, attending and participating in daily standups and weekly retrospectives while working closely with team members daily. You will participate across software development lifecycles, including supporting and leading component design, development, and test activities, along with involvement in the requirements gathering process.

  • Experience with agile techniques, especially Kanban (Preferred).
  • Experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Typescript, JavaScript)
  • Experience with commonly used open-source products (e.g., Jackson, Hibernate, Angular, Maven)
  • Experience with Business-Driven Development approaches and technologies (e.g., Specification by Example, Cucumber). (Preferred)
  • Experience with application servers (e.g., Tomcat, Wildfly)
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience with collaboration tools (e.g., Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence, Nexus, Bitbucket)
  • Some experience facing clients as well as requirements gathering (Preferred). Note this position will be part of a team that is engaged with the client. You will not be leading meetings but may contribute and speak to the client in a key area.
