Job description

Position: Medical Device Design Engineer
Location: 100% Remote
Pay Rate: $40/hr
Duration: August 17, 2026 – April 30, 2027


Key Responsibilities:

  • Author, review, and maintain Design History Files (DHFs) for existing medical devices.
  • Identify documentation gaps and ensure complete, compliant design records.
  • Utilize Vault to manage engineering documentation and workflow.
  • Generate, analyze, and update risk documentation, including DFMEA and risk tables.
  • Coordinate and participate in cross-functional design reviews.
  • Perform functional relationship analyses (FRA) and tolerance stack-up analyses.
  • Develop verification and validation (V&V) protocols for product testing.
  • Update engineering drawings, prints, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory, Quality, and Engineering teams to support project deliverables.
  • Prepare technical documentation and communicate project updates to stakeholders.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, Materials Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience authoring and maintaining Design History Files (DHF) for medical devices.
  • Experience with Vault document management systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and drafting standards.
  • Experience creating or updating DFMEA and other risk management documentation.
  • Familiarity with design verification and validation (V&V) processes.
  • Strong technical writing, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
