Job description


We are looking for a Junior Electrical Engineer to support electrical design for commercial, institutional, and related facility projects. This role is a good fit for an entry-level or early-career engineer with exposure to Revit, AutoCAD, power distribution, lighting, low voltage systems, and building electrical design.


Role Focus

  • Electrical design support for building projects
  • Revit and AutoCAD drawing production
  • Power distribution, lighting, and low voltage systems
  • Load calculations, panel schedules, and circuit layouts
  • Coordination with architects, engineers, and project teams

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with electrical drawings, models, details, schedules, and construction documents.
  • Support design of power distribution, lighting layouts, low voltage systems, and electrical equipment layouts.
  • Help prepare load calculations, panel schedules, circuiting, and basic electrical design documentation.
  • Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, structural, and civil teams.
  • Review markups from senior engineers and update drawings accurately.
  • Support code research, design reviews, permitting packages, and construction document updates.
  • Assist with RFIs, submittals, field notes, and project documentation as needed.
  • Learn internal standards, project workflows, and quality control procedures.


Required Experience

  • 0 to 3 years of electrical engineering or electrical design experience.
  • Exposure to Revit and AutoCAD through work experience, internships, co-ops, or school projects.
  • Basic understanding of power distribution, lighting, low voltage systems, or building electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and develop electrical drawings, schedules, diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with load calculations, panel schedules, circuiting, or electrical design fundamentals.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn from senior engineers and project managers.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate clearly with internal project teams.


Preferred Experience

  • Internship, co-op, or project experience with commercial, government, institutional, or facility design projects.
  • EIT or interest in pursuing EIT/PE licensure.
  • Familiarity with NEC, energy codes, lighting controls, fire alarm, telecom, security, or data systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field preferred.
