Job description

Job Summary:

The Spice Blending Technician is responsible for verifying and combining raw ingredients in industrial mixers to produce custom spice blends. Then packs off the blended raw ingredients into bags, boxes, or super sacks, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This entry-level role follows batch instructions and quality standards to ensure blends meet customer specifications, production schedules, and food safety regulations. 

Responsibilities:

  • Verify and dump raw ingredients into mixers based on batch cards and operator direction
  • Operate blending and packaging machinery safely and efficiently
  • Run out blends into appropriate packaging according to specified weights
  • Perform basic quality checks, including visual inspection and product labeling
  • Monitor product throughout the blending process to ensure consistent quality
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and company safety procedures.
  • Clean and sanitize blending equipment and work areas to meet food safety standards
  • Support team members in meeting daily production goals
  • Other duties as assigned
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous food production or manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, batch sheets, and safety guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to product quality.
  • Basic math skills for measuring, weighing, and recording data.
  • Physically able to lift up to 75lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Work in an environment that is noisy, dusty and contains spices with high heat intensity and allergens.
  • Withstand working in cold and hot temperatures for long periods of time
  • Able to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed
  • Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, gloves, goggles, and/or hearing protection.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and production targets.
