Job description

The Medical Office Receptionist will support a small medical practice with 1-5 practitioners, managing daily interactions with a moderate patient volume of 20-50 patients. This role involves welcoming patients, scheduling appointments, handling phone inquiries, managing records, and verifying insurance information. The receptionist will also assist with partial insurance claims processes and utilize specialized electronic health record (EHR) and scheduling software, including ATHENA and TEBRA.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and check in patients efficiently
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments using specialized software
  • Handle incoming phone calls and address patient inquiries
  • Manage and update medical records accurately
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and process partial claims
