Job description

Provides administrative support to the HR function as needed including record keeping, file maintenance, compliance tracking, time and attendance tracking, training tracking, new hire and other HRIS system data entry. Assists with new hire orientations. Generally assists the HR Business Partner and HR Specialist with any HR related activities at our Holland Ecommerce plant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Helps with the coordination of all new hire orientation classes. Assists with helping facilitate in-person orientation sessions. Coordinates new hire paperwork and assists with entry into HRIS system as assigned.
  • Ensure all new hire paperwork is complete and in compliance. Assists with data entry of new hire data into HRIS system.
  • Maintains employment files to ensure compliance and record retention.
  • Ensures confidentiality of all HR information, including HIPAA compliance information.
  • Assists in completing eVerify on all new hires within three days of start date.
  • Assists with seasonal job fairs and interviews.
  • Assists with daily attendance tracking.
  • Assists with updating communications boards and communication slides.
  • Helps administer incentive contests at the plant.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering associate requests and questions.
  • Understands and can help explain policies and procedures.
  • Submits requests for new hire background, MVR and drug screens.
  • Conducts audits of HR files to keep data current and ensure compliance and recommends corrective action.
  • Assists with and helps coordinate all onsite HR sponsored engagement activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the HR Business Partner or HR Specialist.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • While an entry level HR position, at least 2 years related work experience/industry knowledge, preferably in an HR department.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish strong working relationship with people at various levels in the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • An Associate's degree in an HR related field preferred; High school graduate required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Strong computer skills to include word processing (Word), spreadsheet applications (Excel), presentation software (PowerPoint), graphics software (Illustrator), and MS Publisher.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and highly detail oriented.
  • General knowledge of business and office management procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Minimal hazards. General office working conditions. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Occasional overtime work required throughout the year. Must adhere to all plant safety protocols.
