CONTROLS ENGINEER

JOB SUMMARY:
 

As a Controls Engineer you will have the knowledge of automated assembly systems with a solid understanding of the basic theory of industrial controls system applications, design and operation including concepts of power distribution. You will utilize your ability to trouble shoot to solve problems using creative solutions and improve process while being adaptive to various situations. You will be required to maintain, develop and improve automation controls systems to help increase productivity and efficiency while meeting both facility and customer needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintaining checklists

  • Review and input data into PLC log

  • Review shift reports

  • Participation in and preparation for managerial meetings

  • Programming

  • Work across with other facilities

  • Work cross functionally with other departments

  • Utilize team member feedback

  • Find solutions to critical issues

  • Maintain and improve overall equipment efficiency (OEE)

  • HMI performance

  • Evaluate new manufacturing and controls technologies

  • Work with tools to find the root cause of an issue

  • Continuous improvement projects

  • Keep equipment operating and improve equipment uptime by performing periodic audits

  • Identify and implement error proofing requirements throughout the production process

  • Incident reporting

  • SOT walks

  • Follow health and safety processes

  • Act in a proactive and preventative safety behavior

  • Documentation and reports

  • Ensure that you stay up to date on controls technology

  • Stay compliant with training required for position

  • All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, or in related fields

  • Years of Experience: 2+ year experience in industry and related equipment

  • English proficiency

TRAVEL: 

  • Travel Required: minimum

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Allen Bradley (Studio 5000), Siemens (step 7), and C++

  • C sharp and ladder logic experience

  • Ability to read drawing

  • Advanced knowledge of electronic devices

  • Expertise on Fanuc Roberts programming

  • Knowledge on communication protocols

  • Advance computer trouble shooting experience
