Job description

As a Data Center Controls Engineer, you will work with our Data Center Operations Manager (DCM). You will be responsible for troubleshooting, managing, and maintaining the building management system (BMS) and electrical power monitoring system (EPMS).
RadiusDC has multiple components such as generators, uninterruptable power sources, diesel generators, electrical switchgear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives, automatic/static transfer switches, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, CRAHs, etc. All these components have local control systems that interact with each other via open and/or proprietary communications protocols. The BMS is the primary method of control of all mechanical systems within the data center. The BMS/EPMS is the primary method of monitoring all electrical systems within the data center.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshoot and perform corrective action for BMS and / or EPMS related issues.
  • Assist with the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of BMS and /or EPMS systems.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to operations during life cycle of the data center.
  • Review results and action items from the quarterly maintenances for BMS and / or EPMS and take actions to get them resolved.
  • Develop BMS & EPMS project scope of work, schedule, budget, and level of effort (LOE) to projects required by customers and management.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and execution of BMS and / or EPMS improvement projects in RadiusDC data centers.
  • Assist in procurement related activities including request for quotation/proposals, responding to request for information and reviewing vendors proposal.
  • Provide BMS and / or EPMS technical support to RadiusDC data centers.
  • Regularly report status to data center management.
  • Support Controls projects and related commissioning activities in the data centers.
  • Review, implement, and troubleshoot on the controls sequence of operation (SOO) and provide necessary feedback to data center management.
  • Develop and modify controls logic programming and graphical user interfaces.
  • Manage multiple deliverables and requirements.
  • Manage BMS and / or EPMS service contracts.
