What is an entry level data analyst?

An entry level data analyst is a professional who collects, processes, and performs basic analysis on data to help organizations make informed decisions. They typically work with tools like Excel, SQL, or data visualization software to organize and interpret data sets. Entry level analysts focus on tasks such as cleaning data, creating reports, and identifying trends, usually under the supervision of more experienced analysts. This role is ideal for recent graduates or individuals starting their career in data analysis.

What are some common challenges entry-level data analysts face when starting out, and how can they overcome them?

Entry-level data analysts often encounter challenges such as learning new data tools, understanding unfamiliar datasets, and translating business questions into analytical tasks. It's common to feel overwhelmed by the variety of software (like Excel, SQL, or Python) and the pace of real-world projects. To overcome these hurdles, new analysts should proactively seek mentorship, participate in team discussions, and take advantage of online resources or internal training. Regular collaboration with colleagues and asking clarifying questions can help build confidence and ensure successful project contributions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an entry level data analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Entry Level Data Analyst, you need foundational knowledge in statistics, data interpretation, and a relevant degree such as in mathematics, economics, or computer science. Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Excel, SQL, and data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI is typically required. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and clear communication help you extract meaningful insights and present findings effectively. These skills are crucial for transforming raw data into actionable information that supports informed business decisions.

Job description

Thanks for your interest in Success Academy! Running a large, fast-growing, and high-performing network of public charter schools takes a village - families, children, teachers, staff and faculty, advocates, and supporters alike. We are growing fast in New York and expanding to Florida, and we would love to welcome you to our community! We work tirelessly every day to ensure children have access to a fun, rigorous, whole-child education regardless of zip code or economic status. When you join SA, you play a part in giving every student who walks through our doors a fair shot at reaching his or her potential.

Hiring for Our Founding Team of Teachers

At Success Academy, we don’t just hire teachers — we build them. You don’t need a background in education to launch your career with us. Whether you’re an athlete, engineer, artist, chess champion, or math whiz, we’ll equip you with the tools, training, and world-class coaching to thrive in the classroom and beyond.

Joining our founding Miami team is a rare opportunity to help bring Success Academy’s proven model of joyful, rigorous, high-expectations schooling to a new community. As a founding teacher, you will help establish the culture, routines, and academic excellence that will define Success Academy in Florida from day one.

Why Success Academy?

More than the highest-performing K-12 charter school network in NYC, Success Academy is professionalizing education and is a launchpad for careers of significance. Our teachers don’t just show up — they redefine what’s possible for their students and themselves.

As part of our founding Florida team, you will be among the first educators to build Success Academy in Miami-Dade, helping create a school community rooted in excellence, accountability, joy, and deep belief in every child’s potential.

What We Look For

Teaching certification and Master’s degrees are not required for this role. Fluency in both Spanish and English is required for this role.

  • Resilience, drive, and a winning mindset: You’ll be challenged. You’ll be coached. You’ll grow. Every day is a chance to push through limits and raise the bar.
  • A commitment to excellence: You execute a proven playbook. You plan ahead, stay organized, and sweat the details because excellence lives in the little things. You believe structure and consistency create space for kids to thrive, and you don’t cut corners.
  • Total belief in every student: You’ll never settle for average — not in yourself, not in your students. Here, we 100% commit to getting 100% of our kids into 4-year colleges.
  • Passion for content and curiosity to grow: You love learning, and it shows. Whether it’s literature, math, science, or art, you bring genuine enthusiasm to your subject and a hunger to keep getting better. Feedback isn’t just accepted — it’s fuel.
Here’s What You’ll Get
  • A mission with meaning: Help build SA Florida from day one while shaping the futures of young people and helping them reach their full potential.
  • Skills that set you apart: Build essential skills like public speaking, strategy, data analysis, leadership, and conflict resolution.
  • World-class coaching and development: No education background? No problem. We’ll train you—hard—and elevate you even harder.
Key Responsibilities  Ambassador of SA Winning Adult Culture
  • Collaborate with colleagues and leaders and actively seek and apply feedback to strengthen instruction and student outcomes.
  • Serve as an ambassador of SA’s Adult Winning Culture by demonstrating professionalism, excellence, ownership, and an unwavering focus on preparing students for success in school, college, and life.
Scholar & Family Engagement
  • Engage and invest families in students’ academic growth, behavior, and overall success through regular, productive communication.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students and a classroom culture of joy, rigor, and high expectations.
Content Study and Instruction
  • Deeply study the SA curriculum, assignments, and learning goals.
  • Read course texts and complete problems, assignments, and assessments to understand the content and its intellectual demands firsthand.
  • Deliver rigorous, engaging instruction that drives mastery of the content.
Evaluation, Assessment, and Continuous Improvement
  • Regularly study student work and assessment data to evaluate learning.
  • Reflect honestly on results, identify changes needed in your own practice, and work with urgency to improve.
  • Provide timely, actionable feedback that strengthens students’ thinking and performance.
Classroom Management
  • Lead and manage a classroom of 25+ students.
  • Establish and consistently enforce routines and expectations that maintain a productive classroom environment and maximize learning.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree before your first day of work with Success Academy; a background in education is not required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for learning and commitment to student development.
  • Ability to work in person in Miami, Florida.

At Success Academy, we invest boldly in our teachers through exceptional pay growth, comprehensive health and wellness benefits, and career pathways that enable you to advance into leadership within an average of three years!

  • Free One Medical membership, fully covered through our Cigna medical plans.
  • Employees receive a $50 cellphone stipend every month! $600 annually.
