The Role

ย 

This position is responsible for the handling of the documentation preparation, monitoring and coordinating of customs release of shipments for the import of goods in accordance with customs regulations.

Key Responsibilities

ย 

  • Provide the highest level of customer service to clients, vendors, and service providers.
  • Prepare customs and internal documents accurately with minimal guidance.
  • Complete high volume of entries and invoicing to meet KPI's.
  • Handling client queries in a prompt, efficient and professional manner.
  • Responsible for data entry of Import and Export filings including, tracking of shipment status, working with forwarders and other trade partners to ensure cargo delivery with POD.
  • Properly escalate and report any issues or delays to Team Leader.
  • Coordinate cross-border release including export pedimento (customs declaration) and drayage coordination (US SB Only).
  • Resolve issues that arise with Customs clearance (reject notices, eManifest errors, paper packages, RMD Corrections) with minimal guidance.
  • Accurately complete final Invoicing of customs entries to CBSA within the allotted timeframe (CND Only).
  • Conduct tariff research and classification.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

ย 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years in custom brokerage or logistics experience.
  • Basic knowledge of all FTAโ€™s and when to apply them to shipments.
  • Basic knowledge of the PGAโ€™s and ability to research requirements (US NB & CND only).
  • Intermediate knowledge of the LVS program.
  • Intermediate MS Office knowledge.
  • High level of organization, time management and attention to detail.
  • Completion of complex entries.
Physical Demandsย 
  • Occasionally bend, squat, kneel, reach above shoulder, and frequently sit, handle objects (manual dexterity), use fine finger movement.
  • Occasionally must carry/lift loads of up to 15 lbs.
