Job description

Junior Production Artist

Full-Time | In-Person | Houston, TX
Hourly Rate: $15 to $20

Build a Career in Marketing Production

We’re looking for an organized, technically minded Junior Production Artist to help turn established creative concepts into finished marketing materials.

This is not primarily a concept or graphic design position. You will receive creative direction, existing designs, brand standards, templates, and content. Your job will be to accurately prepare, produce, update, adapt, organize, and distribute those materials across print, digital, email, and web platforms.

Much of the work involves taking something that has already been designed and efficiently creating additional versions. That may mean adapting a flyer for multiple dealers, updating dozens of product pages, resizing digital graphics, preparing an email campaign, organizing project files, or entering approved content into a website.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, you will work closely with the Head of Brand to support three established national brands. You will receive hands-on training and mentorship while learning how a professional in-house marketing department manages creative production at scale.

What You’ll Do

You will help produce and maintain:

  • Product sell sheets
  • Instruction manuals
  • Catalog pages
  • Flyers and brochures
  • Product specification sheets
  • Price lists
  • Sales presentations
  • Social media graphics
  • Website graphics and content
  • Email marketing campaigns
  • Trade show materials
  • Print-ready production files

You will also:

  • Follow creative direction and established brand standards
  • Populate existing templates with new products, copy, photos, pricing, SKUs, and specifications
  • Create dealer, distributor, regional, and promotional versions of existing materials
  • Resize, reformat, and repurpose approved artwork for different channels
  • Build email campaigns using existing email templates
  • Upload and maintain approved content within websites and content management systems
  • Maintain organized folders, naming conventions, archives, and project files
  • Help ensure current files are easy for the entire team to locate and use
  • Track assignments, deadlines, feedback, and approvals in Monday.com
  • Collaborate and share files through Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint
  • Prepare press-ready PDFs and package production files for vendors
  • Perform preflight checks and quality-control reviews
  • Learn batching, automation, templates, and other methods for improving production efficiency
  • Help maintain consistency across hundreds of products and multiple brands

Who We’re Looking For

This position is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to learn how professional marketing materials are produced, managed, and distributed.

You do not need to be an award-winning designer, but you must have a desire to be a darn fine one.  We are more interested in your detail, organization, accuracy, technical curiosity, and ability to follow a creative system consistently and efficiently.

The ideal candidate:

  • Takes direction well and is comfortable working within established designs
  • Enjoys organized, repeatable production work
  • Has strong attention to detail
  • Meets deadlines consistently
  • Likes learning software, shortcuts, systems, and efficient workflows
  • Can manage multiple assignments without losing track of files or details
  • Takes pride in producing clean, accurate, consistent work
  • Is comfortable asking questions and learning from feedback
  • Is comfortable being on video calls often and throughout the day
  • Is dependable, organized, and eager to grow
  • Understands that file organization is an important part of the job
  • Is interested in both print and digital marketing production

Experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is a must. Experience with Microsoft 365, Monday.com, email marketing, websites, or content management systems is very helpful, but not required.

We are willing to train the right person who demonstrates aptitude, reliability, and a genuine desire to learn.

Tools You’ll Use

You will gain practical experience using tools such as:

  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Microsoft Teams
  • OneDrive
  • SharePoint
  • Monday.com
  • Email marketing platforms
  • Website content management systems
  • Facebook, Instagram and YouTube

As you grow in the position, you may also begin working with platforms such as Shopify and other web-based marketing systems.

What You’ll Learn

This role provides hands-on experience in areas many entry-level creative positions do not teach, including:

  • Professional marketing production
  • Print and digital production workflows
  • Brand standards and brand management
  • Adobe InDesign styles, templates, and Parent Pages
  • Adobe Libraries
  • File naming and folder organization
  • Version control and asset management
  • Commercial printing and preflight
  • Preparing and packaging files for vendors
  • Email marketing production
  • Website and CMS content management
  • Batch processing and workflow automation
  • Building scalable systems for recurring marketing materials
  • Managing projects from assignment through final delivery

Why Join Us?

You will gain real-world experience producing marketing materials for three established brands while learning directly from experienced marketing and creative leadership.

This is an opportunity to develop a broad, practical production skill set across print, digital, email, and web, while becoming a trusted member of an in-house marketing team.

Benefits include:

  • Health insurance eligibility after three months
  • Paid time off eligibility after three months
  • Paid holidays
  • Simple IRA with company match
  • Hands-on training and mentorship
  • Opportunities for increased responsibility and professional growth
  • A stable, full-time position with an established company since 1989

This is an opportunity to build a career, not just a portfolio.

This is a full-time, in-office position located in Houston, Texas. Remote work is not available.

When applying, be sure to include:

  • Your resume
  • A portfolio or examples of your work, including school or personal projects
  • A brief note explaining why this position interests you and what you would like to learn
  • Cover letter
