Job Summary:

Descript is a collaborative audio and video editor that transcribes audio to a text document for editing, training, and collaboration. They are seeking a Product Manager to help build the future of video editing with AI, working with a team of experienced professionals to develop AI models that enhance user experience and drive business impact.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a deep understanding of our customers, market, and product opportunities

• Develop a deep understanding of the landscape of modern AI models and conviction on where Descript should build, buy, partner and contribute to the field

• Drive company-wide AI initiatives that have meaningful business & user impact, and become an influential advocate for our AI strategy

• Own and drive the roadmap for AI models at Descript, from idea generation through to execution, evaluation and iteration

• Collaborate with AI research, engineering, design, and other product teams to ship AI models that delight our users and deliver meaningful impact on Descript's business

Qualifications:

Required:

• You have 2 or more years of product management experience, ideally with a product of technical complexity that incorporates generative AI models.

• You care deeply about understanding customers, and have experience in doing customer discovery and defining features that solve real problems.

• We need product managers who are attracted to ambiguous problems, know how to ask smart questions, and translate ideas into action.

• We think our product will be successful because people love to use it. That means sweating the details. But without the sweat, because you aren't stressed out.

Preferred:

• You are funny, creative, maybe kind of weird: Ok, this isn't a hard requirement but Descript is kind of a quirky place and the people who love it tend to like that about working here. So, just want to drop a hint early on. Also, the sense of humor is important because even though we take our work seriously it's still just, like, video creation and editing. We aren't flying rockets into space so let's all have a good time.

Company:

Descript is a collaborative audio and video editor that transcribes audio to a text document for editing, training, and collaboration. Founded in 2017, headquartered in San Francisco, California, USA, team size 51-200 employees, currently Growth Stage. Descript has a track record of offering H1B sponsorships.
