Position Details

The Office of Admissions at The University of Tampa has an entry level Admissions Counselor position available immediately for a creative and resourceful individual with an entrepreneurial spirit to assist in the recruitment of potential students. This position reports to the Director of Admissions.

This position is designated as an essential employee and may be required to report to work as scheduled when University offices are closed due to severe weather or other conditions.

Responsibilities
1. Manage and create a marketing plan for a geographic territory.
2. Recruit and provide college counseling, planning and advising to prospective freshmen and transfer students and their parents.
3. Participate in the on-going functions of the Admissions Office.
4. Conduct student interviews on- and off-campus.
5. Correspond with prospective students, parents, high school and college counselors, alumni and others via telephone, e-mail, and mail.
6. Conduct presentations, school visits, college programs and off-campus receptions.
7. Plan, implement, and attend special events.
8. Review and analyze student applications.
9. Assist students and families with general financial aid advising.
10. Serve as liaison with various university constituencies.
11. Review and analyze data for planning purposes.
12. Participate in the development of goals as well as the university's marketing and recruitment plan.

13. Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.

Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree required.
2. Strong public relations, customer service, and public speaking skills.
3. Strong computer skills.
4. Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and organizational skills needed as well as the ability to establish priorities and manage time wisely.
5. Extensive travel required, must have a valid driver's license and vehicle.
6. Availability to work required evenings and weekends.
7. Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday, SLATE and Microsoft Office.
8. Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.
