The Cook Role
Aqua Ridge Senior Living is hiring a full-time Cook (PM/afternoon) in Montclair, CA to help deliver flavorful, nourishing meals that support resident well-being. This entry-level Cook role is ideal for new cooks who want steady volume-prep experience and clear standards.
Key responsibilities include preparing attractive, great-tasting meals; following special diets per MD orders; serving meals on schedule; spotting menu issues and making appropriate corrections; and ensuring menu changes are approved by the Culinary Director. You'll keep the kitchen clean and sanitary, label/date/store and rotate food correctly, document temperatures, help with inventory and ordering, and support dining room service, room-service trays, dishes, and cleanup.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18; criminal record clearance; physical/drug screening; TB test
- Current state/county Food Handler's Permit
- Experience with volume cooking and safe food handling/storage
- English communication skills; adaptable to routine changes
- Able to lift 50 lbs; push/pull/carry up to 30 lbs; frequent standing/walking

Your PM Shift
You'll come in for the afternoon flow: checking the day's plan, confirming any approved menu updates, and getting your station set for smooth service. As the dining room fills, you'll stay organized and calm, keeping an eye on timing and presentation so plates go out when they should. After service, you'll connect with residents to see what they enjoyed and what could be better next time. The later part of the shift is about finishing strong-logging temps, putting deliveries away in the right spots, rotating items, and resetting a clean, orderly kitchen for the next team.
Must have current criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community.
Must pass post offer health physical and drug screen.
