This role follows established quality procedures, performs visual and dimensional inspections, and may perform rework on inflators to ensure products meet required specifications. The position involves working with a variety of small components in a climate-controlled environment and requires comfort working around explosive materials and automated equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Transfer, stock, load, and unload materials for production lines, including components such as diffusers, holders, retainers, initiators, o-rings, end caps, sleeves, canisters, filters, tubes, disks, foil seals, springs, support barrels, shorting clips, labels, and generant.

  • Perform quality procedures and audits, including dimensional checks and visual inspections, in accordance with documented requirements.
  • Follow all safety protocols when working around explosives and automated machinery, including adherence to site rules regarding restricted items.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with facility standards and production requirements.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods during the shift while performing production tasks and material handling activities.
  • Lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds on a regular basis to move materials and components throughout the production area.
  • Use automated systems, equipment interfaces, and technology tools as part of daily production tasks, demonstrating comfort with tech-enabled processes.

  • Comfort working with and around explosives as part of the manufacturing process.
  • Tech-savvy mindset with the ability to work with automated production equipment and computerized systems.

  • Comfort working in a highly automated, technology-driven production setting.
  • Mechanical aptitude that can support future development into maintenance or equipment technician roles.
  • Willingness to learn additional equipment and processes as operations continue to grow.
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and rotating days off while maintaining productivity.

Why Work Here?

You will join a growing manufacturing operation that offers clear pathways for advancement into lead operator, supervisory, and technical roles. Team members who demonstrate strong performance and mechanical aptitude can progress into associate equipment technician and equipment technician positions as opportunities arise. The organization emphasizes internal growth, skill development, and fair rotation of days off to provide balanced access to weekends and rest days. You will work in a structured, climate-controlled environment that values safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Work Environment

This role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility that uses automated production equipment to make airbag inflators. The environment is highly safety-focused due to the presence of explosives, and strict rules apply to items brought on site: lighters, matches, cigarettes, chewing tobacco, vape pens, and e-cigarettes are not allowed inside the facility and must remain in personal vehicles. Work is performed entirely on foot, as there are no sitting work areas, and involves continuous standing, walking, and material handling throughout the shift. The standard shifts include 1st shift (6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.), and 3rd shift (10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.). The first workday is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on a Tuesday for onboarding, after which employees transition to their designated shift. Regular schedules are Monday through Friday; however, the facility currently operates with significant overtime, requiring employees to work 6–7 days per week. For extended overtime periods, rotating schedules are used, with six days on and two consecutive days off, and days off may fall on any day of the week, including rotating weekends, to provide equitable access to weekend time off.
