Our Information Technology team, in our Chicago office, is seeking an Entry Level IT Generalist. This role will support the IT Coordinator in maintaining the office technology in Chicago and also remotely for a number of team members across the country.

The work typically requires the use of hands to type, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Position Overview
At dbHMS, we rely on our Information Technology (IT) team to manage and monitor a variety of computer operations, maintain functioning systems while maximizing uptime and supporting end users throughout the organization. This position will play a vital role, acting as the primary contact for office helpdesk efforts and supporting the larger IT team with more complex system projects. This part-time position will be 20-30 hours per week with potential for flexible work hours. The ideal candidate has a basic working knowledge of windows based information systems and a strong ability to troubleshoot and find solutions. This position is for ongoing employment with a preferred 12-month commitment.
Essential Job Functions
  • Operate and manage the company helpdesk system:
    • Assist with support of technology infrastructure including hardware, software, and network systems.
    • Over time, take primary responsibility for helpdesk activities and tasks.
  • Workstation and other user device maintenance:
    • Configure devices and image machines.
    • Set up and configure user accounts, permissions, and remote access.
    • Assist with IT needs for onboarding new staff members.
  • Assist the IT Coordinator:
    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
    • Install, configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot user hardware and software.
    • Create and maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed.

Requirements
  • Technical knowledge of IT infrastructure including servers, workstations, firewalls, and switches.
  • Ability to communicate and receive communication effectively both verbally and written.
  • Strong organizational skills for processes, schedules, and tasks.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and support new systems and applications.
  • Willingness to work shifts outside of regular office hours for special circumstances as the need arises.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 40 pounds.

Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Enrolled in an Associate or Bachelor's degree program in Information Technology.
  • Past IT helpdesk experience.

Pay Range: $18 - $25 per hour
