Job description

Job Title: Construction Laborer

Job Description

This role involves performing demolition, cleanup, and general labor on commercial construction projects, primarily in school buildings. You will remove and dispose of building materials, keep work areas clean and safe, and travel between different job sites as needed throughout the summer and potentially beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Perform demolition work in commercial buildings, including removing walls, ceilings, floors, studs, doors, windows, and mechanical systems.
  • Lift, carry, and transport construction debris and materials throughout the workday, including repeatedly lifting items up to 50 pounds.
  • Load and dispose of materials into dumpsters and other designated disposal areas.
  • Use hand tools such as shovels and other basic demolition tools to break down and remove materials.
  • Sweep, shovel, and clean work areas to maintain a safe and organized job site.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
  • Experience or strong capability in manual labor and physically demanding work.
  • Comfort working on your feet all day while staying active and productive.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in hot weather and varying site conditions.
  • Basic experience using hand tools such as shovels and other demolition tools.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to different job sites as needed.
