Entry-Level Bridge CAD Technician
Department: Transportation
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Compensation: $23.00 - $33.00 / hour
Description

As a Transportation Structures CAD Technician, you will create electronic design plans using computer software and work closely with Engineers to turn blueprints and technical drawings into 2D/3D computer models.
What are the core responsibilities for the role?
  • Prioritize work to meet various project requests and deadlines, answering to various engineers and project managers
  • Drafting and design work for a variety of projects across multiple disciplines
  • Working in structural detailing, bridge plans, drainage structures, retaining walls, and other transportation structures associated items
  • Developing 3-dimensional models of transportation structures using 2D technical drawings
  • Create/Modify technical drawings of roads, bridges, pipelines, etc.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure that the drawings are correct and represent the design accurately
  • Compiling and maintaining the entire plan set of technical drawings

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Microstation InRoads and/or OpenRoads preferred (Willing to train)
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D
  • Manage project data files from various sources
  • Willingness to learn how to read and interpret construction drawings; ability to think 3-dimensionally
  • Must be able to work independently with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks, with competing priorities
  • Be a professional, creative, team-focused individual that works well with others in a team environment
  • Be enthusiastic, dedicated, and self-disciplined to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Associate's degree or equivalent technical degree
