Job Description:Systems Analyst

The Role

Strategic Advisors Technology (SAT) is seeking a Systems Analyst to play a vital role in one of Fidelity's critical strategic programs. In this role you will partner with Fidelity business stakeholders to understand their key business drivers and business requirements. This is not just about gathering requirements; it's about understanding the why behind them. You will then work with your Development Team and technology counterparts to translate these into user stories and deliver high quality, innovative and timely solutions.

This role requires a dedicated, curious, and passionate Systems Analyst who brings strong skills in the following areas:

  • Supporting your Product Manager's collaboration with business stakeholders to gather and analyze business and functional requirements and confirm these via meaningful artifacts (Business Requirements documents, process flows, use cases, etc.)
  • Converting business requirements into user stories and planning into appropriate sprints
  • Identifying and managing risks and dependencies for planned work
  • Supporting your Product Manager in implementing delivery plans through quarterly planning and backlog management
  • Managing product backlogs using collaborative tools including JIRA and Confluence
  • Translating complex business requirements into user stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria
  • Leading team refinement sessions to ensure stories are clear and ready for sprint planning
  • Defining story acceptance tests in collaboration with the team, applying Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) principles during refinement.
  • Ownership of user story sign-off, ensuring the delivery meets the requirements and has passed all tests (automated and manual)
  • Proactively identifying opportunities for process and system improvements to extend the value delivered to your business partners
  • Where Needed - Participation in End-to-End test activities to ensure functionality is working per the requirements


Education and Experience

At minimum, a Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and at least Two (2) years experience as a Systems Analyst

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Financial services industry knowledge and experience is highly desirable, investment management and/or wealth management domain knowledge a plus
  • 2+ years experience in the Systems Analyst role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analysis skills, with a proven track record of delivery on complex technology projects
  • Ability to understand the technology and software architecture of an application
  • Experience with various tools that assist in analysis and testing including SQL Developer, Insomnia, Kafka - Offset Explorer and Datadog
  • Experience understanding an application's data model and using SQL to query tables to assist with analysis and testing
  • Ability to read code for analysis and support purposes is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with modern AI tools and their application in Systems Analysis is desirable
  • Has worked in an Agile environment that uses the Scrum Methodology and is experienced with the related events and artifacts
  • Has effectively worked in a global, team-based environment with team members in various locations and countries.

The Team

As a Systems Analyst on the team, you work in partnership with the Strategic Advisors business stakeholders, team members, your Product Manager and Product Area Leader to understand the product vision and challenges. From there, you'll work with your technology counterparts to deliver innovative, cost effective, architecturally aligned, and timely solutions. By demonstrating and promoting Fidelity and Agile leadership principles, you sustain and evolve our innovative agile culture.

The base salary range for this position is $67,000-$127,000 per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
