Job description

Description This position works in a hybrid telework schedule with an expectation of being in the office if needed. It may include occasional field visits. Travel to various work sites, businesses, and/or meeting locations is required.

Summary Why It's a Great Opportunity: As a Computer Systems Business Analyst 2 (CSBA2) with experience in developing custom software as a Service administration, system integrations, research, and analysis, you will have a tremendous opportunity to leave your innovative mark while maintaining a work/life balance. You will help guide Planning & Public Works Divisions on the path towards increasing efficiency and delivering results to the residents of Pierce County. You will be working on multiple projects of various sizes that address the needs of individuals or small groups all the way up to the enterprise level.

Your focus will be centered on customer service and continuous improvement. Projects you may support as a CSBA2: Design, build, implementation, and administration of Microsoft Power Application software solutions. Implementation and configuration of department Customer Relationship Management system.

Requirements gathering, solution identification, and implementation of fleet vehicle key management hardware and software. Design and implement organizational document and data management solutions utilizing existing software such as SharePoint. How to be Successful in the Role: We are looking for strategic thinkers experienced in business analysis principles, software development and administration, and implementing process improvement. Someone who knows how to develop working relationships, provide top level customer service, and communicate across all levels of the organization. We need you to jump in and support current projects while learning about the department and identifying new opportunities.

Computer System Business Analysts who are motivated to improve both system and process efficiencies, can manage customers and expectations, make strong recommendations, and then implement those recommendations will be successful in this role. Your Future in this Role: The Division of Innovation and Technology team wants you to grow and develop in this role. You will build on your technical skills and business analysis knowledge with increased involvement in larger-scale projects as your knowledge and experience in the County grows.

Core Daily Responsibilities: Develop an advanced knowledge of the departmental business functions, information systems terminology, information needs, and workflow to plan, design, and propose changes/improvements to internal systems. Analyze user needs and develop system requirements.

Act as a liaison between the department and Information Technology (which may include 3rd party vendors) to ensure the assigned department's project needs are being communicated effectively and are on schedule. Train users on new and updated software applications or processes. Test changes and enhancements to software application systems (including creating documents and test scripts, manually updating document status and tables, and testing functionality).
