Job description

Adastra is seeking a skilled and proactive Business Systems Analyst to bridge business needs and technology solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, document business processes, assess system capabilities, and support the delivery of technology solutions that drive business value. This role requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of data and systems, and the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.

Work Model: Hybrid 2-Days Onsite

Employment Type: Full-Time or Contractor

Compensation Range: $85,000 – 95,000 CAD


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze and document business processes, requirements, and system capabilities
  • Gather, analyze, and translate business and technical requirements into clear functional specifications and actionable deliverables
  • Assess existing business processes and identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization
  • Develop source-to-target mappings and translate complex business requirements into logical solution designs
  • Analyze data, systems, and workflows to recommend practical and scalable solutions
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and requirements review sessions
  • Document and communicate project requirements, findings, recommendations, and implementation plans
  • Support solution design, deployment, and implementation activities across project lifecycles
  • Evaluate system enhancements and ensure successful integration with existing processes and technologies
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT), coordinate stakeholder signoffs, and support issue resolution
  • Maintain project documentation, procedures, and business process artifacts to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions align with business objectives and operational needs

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven experience in business analysis, business systems analysis, or a related role
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and support
  • Experience with Data Warehousing concepts, SQL, and data modelling
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business, functional, and system requirements
  • Knowledge of source-to-target mapping and data integration concepts
  • Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams and adapt to evolving project requirements
  • Strong attention to detail with experience producing high-quality documentation and reporting
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends and best practices
