Overview

Join a busy clinical laboratory environment where your attention to detail and commitment to safety are vital for accurate diagnostic testing. This Lab Assistant role offers an engaging opportunity to support laboratory operations, perform routine specimen processing, and contribute to quality assurance in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities

Sort and receive specimens in the laboratory department

Perform routine instrument maintenance on selected equipment

Prepare specimens for testing by building worklists, aliquoting, checking for clots or fibrin, and inoculating or slide preparation

Operate laboratory computer systems and PCs to record data and manage work processes

Prepare reagents and media as needed in the department

Conduct quality assurance and control duties, including resolving pending lists and finding missing samples

Decontaminate work areas and perform weekly radioactive wipe tests

Change gas cylinders and dispose of biohazardous materials following safety protocols

Maintain departmental records and files for compliance and tracking

Follow all PPE requirements and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment

Assist with specimen storage, retrieval, and other routine laboratory tasks
