The PC Depot Technician I plays a foundational role in supporting our IT operations by preparing, deploying, and maintaining hardware for both internal teams and clients. This position focuses on hands-on technical work within our IT Asset Management (ITAM) and depot operations, ensuring devices are properly configured, inventoried, and deployment-ready. While much of the work happens behind the scenes, this role is critical to the speed, quality, and reliability of service delivered by our helpdesk and field teams. This entry-level position is ideal for someone building their technical skillset in a fast-paced MSP environment and looking to gain exposure to real-world IT operations, hardware lifecycles, and client support workflows. 

This role is onsite 5 days a week at our HQ in Frederick, Maryland. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Configure, image, and prepare desktops, laptops, and mobile devices for internal and client use 
  • Perform basic diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, and component swaps on computers and peripherals 
  • Assist with receiving, staging, packaging, shipping, and tracking IT hardware 
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for devices, parts, and accessories using ITAM tools 
  • Install operating systems, software, and standard applications according to documented procedures 
  • Provide basic technical assistance to internal users or support teams as needed 
  • Document device configurations, setups, and notable issues in ticketing or asset systems 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient depot workspace 
  • Collaborate with helpdesk, engineering, and operations teams to support device readiness and deployments 
  • Participate in occasional onsite or field-based support tasks, as assigned 

Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • Associate's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or actively pursuing one 
  • Internship or entry-level experience in IT support, desktop support, or hardware-focused roles preferred 
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems; basic exposure to macOS environments is a plus 
  • General understanding of hardware components, peripherals, and device connectivity 
  • Exposure to ticketing systems and basic IT documentation practices 
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

The salary range for this position is $55,000 -$60,000/year. The base salary range for this position is an estimate and may vary depending on relevant factors, including but not limited to education, experience, certifications, and skillset, as well as internal equity and business considerations.
