Systems Engineer - Digital Signal Processing (Entry-Level)

Boeing Defense, Space & Security is seeking an Entry-level DSP Systems Engineer to join the Space and Launch Engineering team in El Segundo, California, to design and develop state-of-the-art, space-based communication systems for commercial, civil, and national security programs. You will be part of a highly-motivated team that works with domestic and international customers on the latest satellite systems. Project assignments typically span the unit life cycle, from internal trades, concept studies and system definition, to satellite unit development and test.You will belong to a systems engineering team interacting with customers, suppliers, program management, integration and test engineers, and senior technologists.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop next generation RF and digital communication systems.
  • Develop and verify multi-rate, fixed-point digital signal processing architectures.
  • Allocate, define, and verify requirements and interfaces in the development of communication digital payloads.
  • Develop performance and link budgets.
  • Conduct performance analysis of signal processing models.
  • Assist with conducting trade studies.
  • Develop prototype demonstrations on flight-like communication subsystem testbeds.
  • Support unit-level integration and performance simulations.
  • Support ASIC and FPGA level system design and verification.
  • Support hardware procurement, design reviews, and unit sell-offs.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in El Segundo, CA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Education or experience in signal processing.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Master's degree in or similar degree in signal processing or algorithm development focus
  • Development of algorithms for hardware implementation on ASICs or FPGAs
  • Digital Signal Processing based classes, projects or work experience
  • Simulink experience in work or school. Python, C++, or other languages acceptable
  • Substantive involvement and/or leadership in group-oriented project work
  • Verification planning and principles, while applying their theoretical knowledge in resolving real world problems
