Who We're Looking For:

TSMC, the global leader in semiconductor foundry technology, is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Implant Equipment Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team at TSMC WA. This is an exciting opportunity to launch your career within a high-volume, state-of-the-art manufacturing environment. You will work alongside industry experts, receive hands-on training, and contribute directly to the production of cutting-edge semiconductor technology.  

As an Implant Equipment Engineer, you will undergo rigorous training to assist in optimizing the performance, reliability, and efficiency of advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Your primary focus will be supporting ion implantation equipment-including AMAT xR/Quantum High-Current Implanters, VIISion80 High-Current Implanter Systems, and high-vacuum systems-within the Implant process area. This exempt position requires a strong commitment to operational excellence, including flexibility for demanding work schedules and immediate responsiveness via company-provided communication tools. We are seeking individuals who embody TSMC's core values of Integrity, Customer Partnership, Innovation, and Commitment, and who are eager to learn and grow within our organization.  .  

Responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Equipment Monitoring: Learn to utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) and real-time monitoring methods to track and analyze equipment performance.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Collaboratively plan, coordinate, and perform preventative maintenance on advanced tooling alongside our skilled technician team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support the development and implementation of engineering projects aimed at improving tool reliability, availability, and cost efficiency.
  • Yield & Quality Support: Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues to reduce scrap, lower costs, and continuously improve product yield and quality.
  • Inventory Management: Support and maintain the spare parts inventory to ensure minimal tool downtime.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Maintain high self-motivation to investigate equipment abnormalities, initiate corrective actions, and prevent future occurrences.

Required Qualifications:  

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related engineering discipline. (Master's degree is a plus, but not required).
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience. This is an entry-level role; prior internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing or semiconductor environment is highly preferred but not required.
  • Technical Foundations: Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) principles.
  • Core Skills: Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Academic/Practical Background: A solid foundational background in Electronic, Electrical, or Mechanical engineering principles.
  • Preferred Skills: Exposure to or basic understanding of High Vacuum systems (turbo, cryo pumps) or ion implantation systems (such as AMAT xR/Quantum or VIISion80) is a strong plus.

  • Excellent team player with strong communication skills.

Work Location & Schedule:

This position operates on-site at our Camas, Washington location during core business hours, Monday through Friday 8 am - 5 pm; however, there may be occasions when additional hours are necessary to meet project demands.

Pay Transparency & Other Compensation:

At TSMC, your base pay is just one component of your comprehensive compensation package. For new hires in this position, the starting salary typically ranges between $87,000 and $106,764 per year. The full salary range for this Job Grade extends from $87,000 - $115,580 depending on factors such as skills, qualifications, education, experience, tenure, and position level. TSMC's total compensation package also includes market-competitive pay, profit sharing and incentive bonuses, and tuition assistance.

* This position is also eligible for a Sign-On Bonus depending on various factors.

* This position is also eligible for a Relocation Bonus depending on various factors.

Employees and their families are offered access to comprehensive coverage, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, our wellbeing program, as well as basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.

Additionally, employees can enroll in our 401(k) plan with an employer match and participate in the employee stock purchase program. Employees receive 12 recognized holidays per year and accrue 120 hours of paid time off annually their first year.
