The Role



LUZCO is seeking a Drafter / Designer to support substation engineering and power delivery projects through the development and maintenance of high-quality technical drawings. In this role, you will collaborate with engineers and project teams to create and update 2D drawings using AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar design tools. You will contribute to substation design efforts including physical layouts, single-line diagrams, schematics, and protection & control drawings, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client standards.


This position is ideal for candidates across a range of experience levels who are interested in growing their careers in substation design, utilities, and power delivery while supporting impactful infrastructure projects.



What Your Day Will Look Like

  • Create, update, and maintain electronic engineering drawings.
  • Use Autodesk AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation/Substation to develop substation physical and protection & control drawings.
  • Work closely with engineers and other team members to develop 2D drawings for substation projects.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and ensure drawings are completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist with substation engineering drawings including single-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, control house layouts, and substation elevations.
  • Follow and maintain client drawing standards and project requirements.
  • Support the team with additional tasks and assist in other areas when needed.
