Job description

Job Description

As an engineer on the geotechnical team, you will work on projects involving traditional geotechnical engineering analysis, foundation and subsurface design, and evaluation during construction. You will be required to perform design calculations for shallow and deep foundations, including bearing capacity, settlement, and earth retention. You will assist with writing and preparation of geotechnical reports, work with other engineering disciplines as part of a larger design team and assist with preparation and execution of project schedules. You may also perform research, work with drafters to create design drawings, and travel to project sites for observation, soil classification, and oversight of geotechnical investigations.

You will travel to various job sites work in all types of terrain and weather conditions. Night work will be required.

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or Geotechnical engineering required 
  • Must have obtained Engineer Intern (EI) or Engineering in Training (EIT) certificate 
  • Technical skills in a wide range of geotechnical analysis and design
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 30 pounds or more
  • ODOT experience preferred (but not required)
  • Computer skills including word processing and spreadsheets
  • The ability to travel 70% or more and night work will be required
