Description

Installation of infrastructure for voice and data services, security, network services, and equipment.

You will work with voice, video and data cabling systems and networks. This position requires

accuracy, attention to detail, receptive cooperation, and regular and consistent physical activity.

Implement network installation projects by learning project documents, plans, specifications and

planning material orders for supplies, material and tools, survey project sites, documenting asbuilt drawings and project documents throughout the installation and upon completion.

• Establish voice and data networks by installing, terminating, testing, and splicing cables.

• Installing telecommunications equipment, routers, and switches, establishing connections, and

programming features following industry standards.

• Verify service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms, identifying, correcting, or escalating

problems.

• Documents network by labeling and routing equipment and cables.

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues.

• Identify/Pull/Terminate/Test Cat5, 5e, 6, 6A coax and fiber optic communication cable.

• Identify color codes for 568A, 568B, 6 strand fiber, 12 strand fiber, 25 pair and 50 pair.

• Label and document horizontal, backbone and other cables.

• Fiber terminations.

• Terminate with multi-pair stand cable (copper and fiber).

• Dress and route cable through conduit, above ceilings, between floors, into telecom closets,

modular furniture, and other work area outlets per job specifications.

• Build-out telecom and equipment rooms.

• Install Firestops and various types of cable penetrations.

• Installation of support structures and cable pathway systems. (J-hooks, support rings, cable slings,

cable tray / ladder rack, conduit, and raceway).
