Description

Oneida Professional Services is seeking an Associate Service Desk Technician to support the Defense Information School (DINFOS) Technology & Logistics Support Services contract at Fort Meade, Maryland. This position provides entry-level technical support for end users, desktop systems, software applications, and peripheral devices supporting DINFOS academic and administrative operations.

Working under the guidance of senior technical staff, the Associate Service Desk Technician will assist users with technical issues, support equipment installations and upgrades, and help maintain a reliable and responsive technology environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to develop and expand their information technology support experience in a professional and mission-focused setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support to users via phone, email, remote access tools, and on-site field support.
  • Assist users with hardware, software, operating system, printer, and peripheral device issues.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot common technical problems and escalate complex issues to senior technical personnel when appropriate.
  • Create, update, and maintain incident and service request records within the automated ticketing system.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and customer interactions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist with workstation deployments, equipment replacements, software installations, and technology refresh efforts.
  • Perform minor network cabling installations, modifications, and connectivity troubleshooting as required.
  • Support hardware inventory management, asset tracking, and property accountability activities.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism when interacting with users.
  • Follow established operational, security, and service management procedures.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Experience providing customer service, technical support, or desktop support in a professional environment.
  • Basic knowledge of desktop and laptop computer hardware, operating systems, software applications, and peripheral devices.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve common end-user technical issues.
