The Information Architecture, Intelligence & Analytics, or IAIA for short, is part of the broader Genetec Offerings & Transformation department that is tasked with managing some of the major lT transformation projects within our organization. IAIA is responsible for designing and managing data architecture and warehousing solutions, analyzing and interpreting data for insights, and developing BI solutions-including dashboards, reports, KPIs, and data models-to transform raw data into actionable intelligence for strategic and operational decision-making.

The goal of the Business Information Architect is to define the overall structure, standards, and integration of data systems to ensure that data is organized, accessible, and aligned with business needs.

One of the goals of the Genetec Offerings & Transformation team is to enable higher quality operational readiness and support throughout the enterprise. Through an investment in technology, talent, and business transformation initiatives, the team aims to continuously strengthen Genetec's position as a leader.

Genetec is looking for an experienced Information Analyst to join our dynamic and growing team. In this critical role, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our business objectives and technology capabilities. They will be tasked with gathering and documenting business Information requirements from stakeholders, translating these into technical specifications, and liaising with the Digital Information department to ensure alignment.

Your day at a glance:

  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels to deeply understand the organization's data requirements, decision-making processes, and key metrics
  • Translate business information needs into technical specifications and work with the Business Architect, Data Analyst and BI team to ensure they understand and can meet these requirements
  • Design how information should be structured, captured, accessed and flow across various systems (CRM, ERP, marketing, operations, etc.) to support reporting and analytics
  • Work closely with BI developers, data analysts, data engineers, and business units to ensure technical design meets business goals
  • Establish policies for data quality, security, privacy, and lifecycle management; maintain metadata and data catalogs
  • Establish and enforce naming conventions, modeling standards, and architectural documentation practices
  • Manage and enhance the company's data and information security protocols to ensure compliance with relevant standards
  • Assist in driving the design and enhancement of our Business Intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems, or methods
  • Act as a liaison between the business units and Digital Information department, ensuring that solutions meet business needs
  • Develop communication packages in conjunction with Transformation team. Documents may include Playbooks, Transition Guides, FAQs, etc.
  • Performs other duties as directed by leadership
  • Can drive a cross functional group of business functions towards a common goal
  • Can multi-task across several simultaneous product launches
