Job description

Position Summary
We are searching for an entry-level Grinder/Machine Operator to join our client’s growing metals processing team. This role is ideal for someone looking to start or build a career in manufacturing. In this position, you will work hands-on with steel and aluminum products, supporting grinding and machine operations in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform continuous metal grinding throughout the shift (primary responsibility)
  • Operate PLC-controlled equipment using push buttons and HMIs
  • Grind and polish steel and aluminum sheets, plates, and coils
  • Assist with coil processing (slitting, buffing, polishing, cut-to-length)
  • Inspect materials using tape measures, calipers, and basic tools
  • Move materials using forklifts and overhead cranes (training provided)
  • Package and prepare finished materials for shipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures including PPE requirements to perform the job safely
Qualifications & Skills
  • Entry-level – 1–2 years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to read instructions and use a tape measure
  • Basic math and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable using or learning basic computer systems
  • Reliable, motivated, and able to work independently
  • Willingness to learn equipment like forklifts and cranes
  • Strong attention to detail and safety
  • Physical ability to lift weight up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work for extended periods while standing, bending, reaching, using arms and hands, lifting
  • PPE required: steel toes, safety glasses/goggles, hearing protection
