THE ROLE
Chetola Resort is seeking a technically skilled and service-oriented AV & Technology Operations Specialist to help maintain and improve the resort's technology infrastructure and event support services. This hands-on position plays a key role in supporting daily IT operations, AV setups, and systems troubleshooting across departments including lodging, dining, spa, events, and administration.
The AV & Technology Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting the planning, preparation, execution, and ongoing operation of audio-visual services throughout the property. This position works closely with Event Coordinators, clients, resort departments, vendors, and the IT department to ensure AV services are properly planned, configured, delivered, and supported.
This role combines hands-on AV operations, client service, event support, technology development, equipment maintenance, staff instruction, and select IT responsibilities. The AV & Technology Operations Specialist serves as a primary technical resource for AV-related needs and helps identify opportunities to improve technology, service quality, operational efficiency, and the overall guest experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Primary Responsibilities
  • Coordinate AV requirements with Event Coordinators and clients prior to events.
  • Communicate AV services and recommendations to clients and identify opportunities to increase AV revenue.
  • Provide on-site AV support for events and ensure a successful client and guest experience.
  • Prepare, configure, test, operate, and maintain AV equipment to meet event requirements.
  • Troubleshoot AV equipment and systems before and during events.
  • Research and recommend new AV technologies, equipment, and solutions to improve services and capabilities.
  • Coordinate AV infrastructure projects with internal teams, contractors, and third-party vendors.
  • Provide AV equipment training and technical support to staff across departments.
  • Maintain AV equipment, inventory, and documentation records.
  • Track AV-related revenue, expenses, equipment purchases, and improvement projects.
  • Monitor current AV technology trends and recommend upgrades and improvements.
  • Provide on-call, evening, weekend, and after-hours AV support as needed.

Secondary Responsibilities
  • Provide secondary IT support based on business and operational needs.
  • Set up and configure computers, workstations, monitors, printers, and other peripheral devices.
  • Install and configure software and system functions according to established specifications.
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, networking, and connectivity issues.
  • Assist with maintaining IT systems, equipment, and security standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Support the IT department with projects and other technology-related needs as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience with professional, conference, or enterprise AV equipment is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of microphones, amplifiers, mixers, projectors, displays, video systems, and related AV equipment.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work professionally with clients, guests, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple events, projects, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new AV and IT technologies.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems, networks, IT security, and general technology systems.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with other departments.
  • Ability to remain calm and solution-oriented in high-pressure event environments.
  • Must be willing to maintain a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and after-hours support when business and event requirements dictate.
