Field Engineer 4 - Computer Technician (Schaumburg, IL)
About the Role
Join our dynamic team as a Field Engineer 4 and play a vital role in delivering top-tier technical support for laptops and desktops across the Schaumburg metro area. As a trusted Field/Computer Technician, you'll handle a variety of hands-on repair tasks, providing essential IT support to customers and building your expertise in hardware troubleshooting and service management. This contract position offers autonomy, a collaborative culture, and opportunities to expand your technical skillset.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and perform break-fix repairs on laptops and desktops, including replacing hardware components like hard drives, motherboards, and keyboards
- Execute whole unit swaps and service or replace PC peripherals as needed
- Travel to client locations across the metro and surrounding areas using your own vehicle
- Accurately update and close service tickets in real-time using a company-provided mobile device
- Maintain professional communication with clients and internal teams throughout each assignment
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on break-fix experience with laptops and desktops
- Solid understanding of computer hardware and software fundamentals
