Job Description

At Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense (EBAD), our people are the foundation of everything we build. We develop advanced technologies that support critical aerospace and defense missions-where reliability, precision, and performance truly matter.

When you join EBAD, you'll work alongside a collaborative team solving complex engineering challenges and contributing to systems that support space exploration and help protect service members around the world. If you're looking for meaningful work, technical growth, and real-world impact, you'll find it here.

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing Electronics Development Engineering team. As a member of this team, you will design and develop high-reliability electronic hardware-from early concept through production. This role reports to the Electrical Product Development Lead and offers the opportunity to work on systems that operate in demanding, real-world environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical and electronic systems from concept to production
  • Translate requirements and customer needs into robust, manufacturable designs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, systems, manufacturing, and test)
  • Support the full product lifecycle: concept, design, build, test, and release
  • Contribute to a hands-on engineering environment, including prototyping, testing, and validation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical/electronics development
  • Experience in one or more areas: analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics design
  • Hands-on lab experience: testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and validation
  • Experience across the development lifecycle: requirements, design, verification/validation, and system integration
  • Ability to perform circuit analysis and develop test plans to validate designs
  • Knowledge of PCB design, component selection, SMT processes, and test methods
  • Experience supporting design reviews (PDR/CDR) and demonstrating compliance with requirements
  • Familiarity with requirements and risk management processes
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • FPGA development (VHDL/Verilog)
  • PCB design and schematic tools (e.g., Altium)
  • Embedded systems experience (e.g., PIC, MPLAB, microcontrollers)
  • Experience with circuit simulation tools (e.g., SPICE)
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD, IPC, or high-reliability design practices
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability environments
