Continuum College has an outstanding opportunity for a Computer Support Analyst 1!
About the position
The primary function is to provide a combination of analysis and technical computer support functions focusing on the planning, acquisition and use of computer hardware and software for Continuum College.
This role has an emphasis on developing systems solutions that require understanding of the specific disciplines of the organization/unit being supported AND performing a combination of hardware, software, database, programming, user training, and/or networking functions to meet the specific needs of the unit. Work often involves maintaining or administering one or more local area networks designed for departmental use.
Functional Responsibilities:
Technical Support and Troubleshooting -35%
  • Provide comprehensive Tier 1 technical support for Continuum administrative staff, including troubleshooting software, hardware, and network issues, guiding users through problem resolution steps, and escalating complex issues to Tier 2 support as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Tier 2 and IT Infrastructure teams on escalated issues, project rollouts, and system upgrades to ensure minimal disruption to end users.

Hardware, Endpoint, and Asset Support -25%
  • Conduct regular maintenance and updates of computer hardware and peripheral devices to ensure optimal performance and longevity, including diagnosing hardware failures and coordinating repairs or replacements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets, including tracking hardware assignments, software licenses, and coordinating lifecycle replacements in partnership with IT leadership.
  • Assist with endpoint deployment, configuration, imaging, software installation, and post-deployment support for Continuum College workstations, laptops, and related devices.

Application Support - 15%
  • Install, configure, and update software applications according to Continuum's technology standards, ensuring compatibility and integration within Continuum's computing environment.
  • Support the implementation and use of collaboration tools, cloud-based services, and institutional platforms such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Zoom, Canvas, ServiceNow, and similar systems.

Documentation, Automation, and Process Improvement - 10%
  • Develop and maintain documentation that supports the effective use of technology and systems within Continuum College, including user guides, knowledge base articles, troubleshooting steps, internal procedures, and onboarding materials.
  • Assist with basic scripting, automation, and repeatable support tasks under the guidance of senior IT staff. Help document procedures, validate results, and identify opportunities to reduce manual effort in routine support workflows.

User Training and Education - 15%
  • Facilitate technology onboarding for new Continuum staff, including setting up user accounts, provisioning equipment, configuring software, and orienting users to Continuum's core IT systems and services.•
  • Help users understand best practices for data security, remote work tools, collaboration platforms, and how to access technical support.•
  • Participate in the deployment of new technology tools or systems by assisting with testing, documentation, user communication, training, and post-rollout support.

  • Ability to create clear documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
