A Brief Overview
Install/upgrade hardware and software on portables, desktops, computer wall mounts, computer carts on Windows 10 systems. Diagnose and remedy problems with all types of PC's and peripherals. Responds to service calls that have been relayed by the Helpdesk. Performs periodic maintenance on PCs and peripheral devices
Essential Functions

  • Installs/upgrades hardware including portables, desktops, computer wall mounts, computers carts, printers, document scanners and bar code scanners in accordance with standards. Maintains high level of performance to keep departments running efficiently. Implements new hardware without adverse effect on current production systems.
  • Installs/upgrades software on portables, desktops, wall mounted computers and computer carts on Windows 10 Systems in accordance with standards. Develops installation methods that minimize impact on customer systems. Engages in periodic contact with customers for feedback on software performance. If negative feedback is encountered, determines source, and corrects deficiency using acceptable troubleshooting techniques.
  • Diagnoses and remedies problems with all types of PCs, peripherals and applications in accordance with standards. Diagnoses problems with network connectivity. Responds to requests for assistance and diagnoses problem using appropriate troubleshooting techniques. Evaluates performance of PC hardware and software and initiates actions for repair and improvement.
  • Maintains up-to-date database of owned computer equipment and peripherals. Validates and updates inventory in accordance with standards. Participates in annual inventory process.
  • Provide Helpdesk coverage during non-business hours or as needed.
  • Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job.

Education Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree From an accredited college or university in Information Technology or related field, equivalent work experience may be substituted for education Required

Experience Qualifications

  • Minimum three years experience with Windows 7 or 10 including one year customer service experience Required and
  • Minimum three years experience with Microsoft Office or Windows applications Preferred and
  • 1-3 years Customer service experience Required

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge, Skill and Ability to understand and use network principles to aid in troubleshooting problems.
  • Knowledge, Skill and Ability to understand principles of user applications to aid in troubleshooting problems.
  • Knowledge of the principles of personal computers,and other peripherals.
  • Knowledge of the interfaces between applications and how that relates to the issues they are working.
  • Knowledge of basic network operating system fundamentals.
  • Skill in the operation and maintenance of the personal computers and peripheral devices.
  • Skill in overhaul of computers and peripheral devices.
  • Skill in diagnosing the interoperability of multiple applications on a single platform.
  • Skill in interpersonal communications.
  • Ability to work closely with customers and communicate when expectations can and cannot be met.
  • Ability to keep abreast of emerging technologies and their application to our environment.

Licenses and Certifications

  • CompTIA A+ Certification Preferred and
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Preferred
  • Employee's identified as "high frequency" drivers will be required to undergo a successful motor vehicle record (MVR) check and meet requirements of the policy. Required
