Job description

Standard Job Description Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.

Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

About the Role: The Testbed & Simulation Product Line is a fast paced, highly dynamic, and growing organization of 120 people that play a vital role in providing robust test software and equipment to accelerate the development and integration of mission-critical systems. Our common technical baseline has been matured and refined for over a decade, providing a wide range of simulation capabilities to 30+ programs across LM Space. Within these programs, you will participate in the design, development, verification and deployment of complex new software and hardware simulation systems.

The Tb&S (Testbed and Simulation) Software Product Line is seeking a highly motivated Software Interface Engineer. This position will support full project life cycles of testbed products, including Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWILs) testbeds. Core Responsibilities: Develop embedded C/C++ software, including drivers, wrappers, and interface layers that connect hardware components with simulation and testbed software.

Integrate, troubleshoot, and support hardware-in-the-loop and testbed solutions in a lab environment. Coordinate software development activities across hardware, software, systems, and integration teams. Debug integration issues across the hardware/software boundary, including communication, timing, configuration, and testbed anomalies.

Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a related technical field. Proficiency in C/C++ and/or Python. Familiarity with Git or other version control tools.

Proficiency in Linux systems and Real-Time Operating Environment. Must be a U.S. citizen

Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. Desired Skills MS or greater in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering or related field Previous HWIL, testbed, or lab integration experience with real-time embedded systems involving both hardware and software

Agile/Scrum experience, including backlog planning, task execution, and issue tracking. Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across hardware, software, systems, and integration teams.
